Because if the company fails then they can buy it even cheaper because they are already on the board of directors, and turn the company into what they envision

If they collectively have a good idea to make a ton of money, then why not. Only speculation at this point.

Same reason we invest in trip stocks. The high ROI. They may know they can get a ton of money through this holding company. Who really knows.
