long term traders scale out and you get continuation on selling.

so when late day sellers or buyers enter they are out of position
and the market attempts to force them to enter or exit.

this happens intra day as well. this morning the market got too+
short then adjusted the inventory rallied till 1130am


when the market is too long or short it has to adjust and then
go back to the original direction
