Could have been, but there is a lot of math involved. Number of bitcoins in the trust, premium to bitcoins, halving of bitcoins, etc.

It's all relative to bitcoin. You could say that bitcoin once traded at 4x current value and GBTC traded at a 40-80% premium at times...on average.

Past price is as relevant as Bitcoin's.

At one point the ratio of GBTC shares to Bitcoin was different, leading to much higher valuations for GBTC. I think it was just 20:1 instead of the current 1000:1 but I could be wrong on the numbers.
