Why not get a presentation projector and a TV card? Why would anyone buy a big screen TV anymore?

Beamers are still expensive. Not only to buy - you need a 200 Dollar-bulb every couple of months if you use it on a daily basis.

Elmer, speaking as a TV card user...

(and a Radeon 9700 AIW Pro, at that), I wouldn't want to have to turn off all the lights, have a special screen, buy a $1000 projector (at least - those are the cheap ones now), and replacement bulbs.

really - what if I want to watch the tube and it's daytime? I wouldn't want to watch bleached out colors.

yet I am a big fan of TV cards, and am watching right now in my see-through (thru-view is the registered name) desktop on my machine while I'm typing (Conan is on).

Elmer, well, a projector will give right colors only if you watch in darkness. And it's not practical as my PC monitor if I need to just quickly browse the net or burn a cd.
