You're quite right. Eddie has over 400 Form 4's filed with the SEC.
I wasn't going to go through them all and some were from companies other than Sears Holdings. But I did find that from April thru Oct. 2018, Eddie received shares of SHLD for a price of $0 (at no cost).
Like I said I wasn't going to check them all, but I did look at random months in 2017, 2016, and 2015, and found again that Lampert received SHLD shares at no cost.
So who knows how much Eddie has paid over the years for all his SHLD shares? I sure don't. But if someone else wants to look through all of Eddie's Form 4's, perhaps they can answer that question.
