A million dollar question...

Golfer, KBLB has never published performance specifications on DS, DS 2.0, or their other recent silks beyond a single report of a small sample which had a strength rating of around 2 GPa. We don't know how representative that sample was or have a stress/strain curve for the silk. The Army tested some strands of DS and then requested a stronger silk, suggesting DS was not sufficiently strong for their needs. No performance tests hand been reported on the shoot pack(s) delivered to the Army.

The problem is not the silk, it is not getting in position to be able to mass produce silk. The demand is there. Kim and Jon believe they are going to be able to solve that problem in Vietnam. If they can achieve mass production in Vietnam, Vietnam will be the gateway to the World for our silk and it could be used in everything traditional mundane silk is used in already in addition to any higher end applications that traditional silk cannot be used in.
