The SEC must stop all civil proceedings when the DOJ is investigating a possible criminal prosecution.

If I recall, it is something called Giglio.

Seen it before where the SEC shelved it’s case to allow time for the DOJ to investigate.

However, the DOJ must inform the potential defendants that an investigation is ongoing.
