No problem if we disagree a bit on our views of Intel.
But I still don't see any plausible explanation for HP not being there at launch in the US, other than pressure (perhaps perfectly legal, and even ethical) from Intel.

I have to say, even tho I dont personally know Charlie Gro, his articles seem fairly non bios to me. I do think he would admit to being an AMD fanboy like me. I'm sure most of you know him from Aces. If memmory serves didn't he or someone writing for the Inquirer state that Carly from HP was booked in the same hotel. I believe the question was asked "Did Jerry, Hector and Carly meet". Some say there is no such thing as coincedences...but who knows.
I was in a hotel in Montreal years ago, sat at the bar wich was allmost empty and turned to look at the guy sitting next to me, after allmost dropping my beer I said hello to Mr. Dean Martin.
Learned more about horses then I ever wanted to know over the next two hours. I told him when I went upstairs and told my wife she would definetly want to see the show that evening. Later apon arriving downstairs I was told the show was sold out. a second or two later a guy's walking arround saing in a rather loud voice "Mr. jules xxxxxxx" I said "here sir" folow me, said he, to a table right in front the stage and in front of everybody. After the show M. Martin and the oriental girl singer came and sat with us for a few more hours. They used to call the lady singers the Dingaling Sisters.
