Mr.P. If assets are recorded at historical cost then book value could be significantly understated relative to market value. Also, consider that best jets may have old assets. Add the new equipment and productivity that PBLS bought and suddenly you have much higher sales to assets. Also consider that progas probably had relatively little in the way of assets as it is mostly a marketing company. You combine progas marketing with best jets and you get even more sales to assets. Claims about book value have been passed around like a cheap bottle of wine, but I don't think book value is the correct metric. Hopefully we will get some fresh data soon.

"Bookvalue/shareholder equity is built 1 of 2 ways. either through earnings, or buying assets. We know they havent earned 80 million."

Seems to me that's exactly what they have done. Who is we?
Can you prove they haven't earned what they claim?

"Now, if they did buy 80 million in assets (over and above the acquisition costs,) ie. a company (or a group of companies) with 105 million of book value for $25 million of preferreds, (or some combination of prefs and common or cash) then the question for the auditors is "Are the assets really worth 105 million?" The answer is it is not."

So if I buy a car for $10K and its appraised at $20K, sold for $18K, did I increase the value of my assets or not?

"They merely added up the 2005 financials of the companies they bought as they were before they bought them. The actual book value of what they bought is what they paid for it. That book value will never show up on their audited financials, and based on how they made that announcement, they do not have to"

So you are saying that the companies we bought reported false information as to the value of thier assets to the IRS? And those assets are only worth what we paid for them? Does that mean I don't really have an extra $8,000 dollars in my pocket for selling the car???

Again I ask Why would somebody who claims to be long show up here and post only negative info, not even factual info at that?

How many NSS share do you own?
