Paul, yeah, that was fun to watch! Joe cited it @ SI, from there it went to Ace´s, AMDZONE, T-Break etc. It was just the first thing I thought of when I heard "We´re boosting the clock- and busspeed of our 3700$ high-end server part and sell it as an "Extreme" gamer´s chip to avoid a PR disaster!" or something along those lines ;-)
BTW, from an image standpoint, I think this whole thing was not a good idea. INTEL representatives drooling over remarked XEON MPs as "extreme gaming chips" at their developer forum is not what their customers wanted to see, I´m sure about that. Instead, they should have introduced and paper-launched their highly-anticipated next generation CPU Prescott, which according to INTEL is definitely on track to ship in volume in Q4.
