IMO- always important to know what one owns on cash basis vs credit basis. i can assure you etrade is not allowing purchase of OTC's on loaned margin money.

if you paying interest on stocks u own then its paid for on margin. margin is not free money. if you not paying interest on stocks u own then it is paid for in cash.
