#961 RE: plfminthemiddle #960

I cannot answer your question, my friend, largely because...

...I can't find the answer.

The Apple iPod was introduced in 2001. In typical dramatic fashion, Steve Jobs, black turtle neck and all, went on stage and told the world about a new disruptive technology Apple Computer had developed. (Does that sound familiar?)

It didn't garner much attention initially because it was new. Basically, a computer company that appeared not to be able to compete with the PC format had stepped into a totally alien arena. The talking heads on Wall Street thought Apple was off target; they didn't give the stock a chance. Afterall, Apple had gone head-to-head with the monolithic PC maker, IBM. (There is a parallel between the iPod and ElectriPlast.)

They were proven wrong. The iPod introduced a new way of enjoying music. It was a sea change for global afficienados of music.

Since 2001, Apple has produced 68 million iPods, which have added $14 billion to their bottom line. I am a contented Apple shareholder.

I look forward to being a most contented ITKG shareholder.
Cheers
