Where did you get the $18,000 figure for sepsis treatment? I would guess that it’s a significant multiple of that figure. An ICU bed alone is probably thousands of dollars/day. Then start adding in all “extras” and it adds up quickly. I work in healthcare and working today in a Level 1 trauma center. I’ll ask around and see if I can’t get an educated idea about ICU costs and report back.
