That’s why you have a sorter with a digester and bingo nobody has to worry about sorting at home. Just sit back and be amazed. Or maybe not it takes a lot to open peoples eyes around here. LOL

Good Find KP-

I saw that one and the key is educating the customers and solid containers that can hold the stench till pick up day with households.

That is why I think that container manufacturing company was there at the ribbon cutting ceremony as one of the participants.

To add-

Plastic recycling took quite a while to catch on when it was first introduced in the 90’s and early 2000’s, but now it’s second nature..though many are still sorting their trash wrong..plastic bags from stores among the many others...

That’s why SWALCO is pushing education on how to sort:

Recycling plastics and aluminum wasn’t “hip” back then, now many know that cans copper and so forth are usually dumped into the recycling bin. At least that is what I do..my recycling can is ALWAYS much heaver to lug out to the curb than the trash can.

My thoughts are LRS are targeting stores and restaurants where they’re getting most of the food scraps as a majority...The Leaf Cafe in Bannockburn is participating in the LRS food scrap program. The Collection Bin is outside next to their dumpster..

As where I live, WM still has our towns contract till the end of this year..would be interesting to see if LRS is in the bid, and if we can sign up for the organics program....wonder if it’s an extra cost, or a credit. If it’s a credit, I think more people would participate more willingly.
