Respectfully, I actually am pretty wealthy, (by normal standards, not Bezos wealthy but comfortably in the top 1%) and I could have been much wealthier, much sooner, had I heeded the admonishment to have more patience.
I totally killed myself after 9/11 out of fear while seeing my portfolio continue to tank. I sold most of my portfolio at a 60% loss only to see all of that come back within a year....AND I WAS EDUCATED TO KNOW BETTER, I DID KNOW BETTER, AND I STILL DID THE WRONG THING DUE TO A LACK OF PATIENCE. That won't happen again.
Of course we are all free to do what we want, but I am certain that living a life of patience in the investment world, is a net positive. Especially if one has done their homework, which I feel I have. I don't want to speak for others but I believe a lot of folks feel the way I do as well.
