I feel for your situation and wish you nothing but the best.

Please be careful with keeping the catheter clean and sterile. My father got a urinary tract infection that spread to his blood stream. They are certain that it originated from the foley catheter. He spent a week in the hospital, and is rehabbing at a local nursing home currently. It's been a nasty battle.
