lots on the table

so what happens - with the market price - if he says the NWS is wrong and illegal or whatever … but argues for smaller foot print or worse

??????

I guess we hope he says more positive things than negative - given his past hate for both the NWS and F and F and the whole securitization for liquidity

For Democrats it is important to understand that there are two different issues now: ending conservatorship and housing reform. Imo

Warner, as in Corker-Warner is the cosponsor of an old, dead bill to Kill fannie and freddie. Of course, Corker got his money from shorting fnma and split before the schist hit the fan.

The democrats know that minority housing has declined double digits since fannie was taken over in cship. Translation:
The government is unable/unwilling to manage fnma well enough to
"walk the narrow road" between just flat denying loans to "on the fence" minorities, and the profitablity and sustainablity of fannie and freddie.
Fannie, prior to the cship, had it figured out, with minority homeownership very very high.

Thus, Calabria has bipartisan support..to end the conservatorship which is very bad for minorities.
Watt betrayed the minorities, and made only high quality loans because Obama wanted cash to finance Obamacare..and was not concerned with minority home ownership.

Once fannie is released, management can begin again making home ownership more affordable and available to minorities.
He should be confirmed.
