It wouldn't solve or change a thing other than to create fodder for more noise. Bulls would thumbs up every positive post and thumbs down every negative post. Bears would do the opposite.

Better to let people put their money where their mouth is and PlusOne posts they support, or promote other posts to displace those they don't approve of.

Seriously, who cares whether someone "likes" or "dislikes" a post? I'd like to think this isn't grade school. Or Facebook. But perhaps I'm wrong.
