The MM's, among other more traditional activities, engage in the process of buying or selling a security to sometimes create what could be a misleading appearance of active trading for the purpose of raising or depressing the price to induce a purchase or sale by others...
When the volume slows some, they create it themselves, sometimes up, sometimes down...not a darn thing we can do but watch it happen..in high volume, the MM's step aside and let it run it's course...they love this time right now...
