The fact that Nike lost $4B in market cap should indicate that it was a
very controversial decision to run the Kaepernick ad campaign.


... but large and alienated are subjective I guess.

A significant number of people were upset by Kaepernick's kneeling during the anthem, and were probably at least a little upset at Nike's
support.

I know a lot of cops and military that wont buy Nike any time soon, if ever.

BTW. just because someone doesnt fit the Nike wearer profile, doesnt mean they dont influence, or ultimate pay for purchases for kids,
grandkids, etc.


But what I really am curious about, is in hindsight, was this a good move by Nike?

... despite the market cap loss?

( and yes pps has recovered somewhat recently )

Why did Nike stop the ads? Is there a connection with discontinuing the
campaign and the share price rising?

( still down from pre-ad pps )







"First, no one really knows if a large part of the population was alienated as you put it. Secondly, if they aren't customers what does it matter. They are buying the product anyway. JMHO.
