True although it begs the question why we screwed the pooch (literally) instead of getting a human trial done.

I agree, the money from canine does not mean as much as the PR and validation. It was the first and I hope can be the first to truly capture the world's attention, not to mention save so many dogs. I always wonder about all that Purina food.... and why so much canine cancer. I heard 1 out 2 dogs get cancer before 10.

I have been following the Tripawd page where they talk about the Osteo vaccine for doggies and I am hoping they come through, I originally read some sad stories but no one is actually aloud to post about the trial or results. One guy did post this for someone who was considering the trial:
As for the vaccine, it is VERY promising. The preliminary studies show that it is extending mean survival times from 436 (ish) days with amputation and chemo to 933 days when you add the vaccine to the treatment protocol. We have a vet here that is part of the trial and we are just praying that we can hold off met until the end of chemo so our girl can participate.

I hope this trial does pull through and show powerful results, especially because with it being in trial many people cant afford it now and I want those pets to have a chance to live.
