depreciation increases expenses..if ur expenses go up, ur profit goes down. less profit results in a lower EPS. However, dont forget that depreciation is an ESTIMATE depending on the company's accounting policies. It would be better to look at the Balance sheet as well as the cash flow statement.

I'm no acountant either but what x2012 just said plus it impacts what you pay in taxes.
