As far as MMJ is concerned we need to see it rescheduled to III or higher. The feds can decriminalize it on the federal level without legalization and let the states decide whether to legalize or not. I think this approach has the best chance of passage IMO.

McConnell will not allow any vote on legalization until big pharma gives him permission to do so. That won’t happen until they have a plan in place to take over the space. Maybe that is the case now.
