Actually, the evaluators have PAID for the product, 20% of the cost of the system.
We were told the evaluations could be as quick as 5-8 weeks but depends on the clients end more than anything (clients have busy schedules too)
We are still within that 5-8 week time frame for most, and there was a major disruption for Christmas in the middle so that time frame may be skewed. There is also the fact that purchases will need to fit in with a companies overall strategy of machines and production facilities, so nothing is a given time wise, it is unlikely contracts will be signed the day after evaluations finish, but the picture you paint of
" people previously "given" the "product" to...
..."pay for it", but still no takers.
just doesn't really take the situation seriously in terms of context.
