Exactly. Pumpers usually know ahead of time news will be released so they start accumulating shares and then start pumping the stock. When the news is released that is when uneducated investors start buying while the pumpers are pumping the news about how great the company is while dumping there shares for profit at the same time. Now you’re stuck in this stock until it moves again.
