Nothing is preventing anyone else who invested pre IPO to buy shares either so I’m not really sure what your point is. Ceo buying shares sends the message “my stock is being undervalued by the market and this is a great opportunity”.
Only way Zimmer can get this for pennies on the dollar is Sintx going BK and even then there would be a bidding war for the IP. For Zimmer to buy this it has to pay fair value or conflict of interest lawsuits could ensue.
