I think it's more about who the company's current clients are - and as to which company is ready to go public.

I'd presume that the "Designated Industry" sector as described on any Secretary of State website (or with Nasdaq for the OTC - as OTC is a sub market of the Nasdaq) can be changed quite easily if I'm not mistaken?

The work that Somerset Capital does with their clients is two things in my view 1) give guidance and strategic advice to companies they invest in to help them grow. It's kinda like a company incubator. They see the potential in the company, take them under their wing and grow them till they're ready to go public.

The second type is as turn around experts for distressed companies.

Both types need the same kind of input and the same skill set - strategic advice and guidance to guide them to market.

That is one way that venture capital firms recoup their investment - when the company goes public, they sell their holdings in the company or a percentage of their holdings, possibly, maybe straight to an institutional investor.
