WAMU is the only hostile takeover I know where the acquiring entity claimed a $4B cash corporate account didn't exist in the holding companies name to pay $1.9B for hundreds of locations out West.

The Court over ruled the claim, stating the account was in fact a corporate asset.

Furthermore, the credit card business had a lower default rate than the acquiring company as did the mortgage loan business.

$320B in assets for $1.9B?

What a crock of legal thievery.

I never sold my original WAMU shares.
