Sure. I used TurboTax to file 2015 and 2016 returns. Then this year when I went to file 2017 return I was notified the previous years didn't file, I lost credit for my refunds and charitable deductions and had months of failure to file penalties and interest. There was no intent to evade taxes. It was incompetence by both me and the IRS, which failed to follow their procedures to verify identity and led to the returns being rejected. Nothing I can say. Obviously it's been mistake after mistake, to not just lose the entirety of a million dollars but to owe the IRS a TON of money I don't have.

The IRS called me in 2017 to verify my identity and make sure the TurboTax return was legit, the phone call went fine and they said it was all good, but it was never processed. So to pay them back will be years and years at a couple hundred a month, so add that to $10,000 or so in credit card debt and I guarantee I'm in worse financial shape than anyone on the board! So chin up y'all!
