I'm pretty sure IPIX will NOT be covering the usual treatment costs of chemoradiation. That will be charged to insurance. It would be HIGHLY unusual if they did so. I've never seen that in the numerous cancer trials I've seen at my institution. Costs to IPIX would be for supply of drug and everything outside of usual standard of care, including screening, any extra visits for evaluation of SOM, data collection at the sites for OM scales, QOL scales, etc...

This trials should be pretty simple and relatively inexpensive - just screen, give them sachets to rinse and spit, then monitor AEs (should be none really) and outcomes (OM rating scales, QOL).
