Direct link to the pics will have to work. We'll see how long those links can last. Figured we could have a look at these. Should have used a macro to show off the inner cavity of the PEEK. Excuse my photo skills. You`ll just have to trust me.

Came out of an 8 year old small breed dog. Revised to a femoral head ostectomy, due to what was blamed on loosening due to weight gain. Implant had been in place for 8 years. Posting for length of time the implant had been in place.

Noted are no sign of wear to the head. Looks polished like the day it was made. No signs of galvanic corrosion where head meets stem. Unsure of the type of metal used for hip and stem. Heavy wear in the insert. To the point of almost worn through in the position of last pics 45 degree angle. Wear was all over the insert but extreme wear occurred to the point of almost wear through in this area indicating proper placement angle of the implant? Not sure here since it came off a dog not a human. I`m guessing the wear point indicates the load bearing cite and possibly could have resulted in a squeak here if this was where ceramic on ceramic met or metal particulate if metal on metal. Silent plastic but heavy particulate production, In my opinion. Figured i'd post this in case someone besides me wanted to take a look.
