The units program has a term limit and as you stated is priced above the current market price.
2 shares market = 2 * $0.42 = $0.84
2 shares unit program = $1.00 + $0.01 = $1.01
Some will desire to participate in the units program regardless of the price disadvantage, but my advice is to buy a fixed amount every month through the normal share purchase DSPP over the course of the next several years.
