#46627 RE: perker #46626

The State of Maryland reported they expect a $100M gross from the sale of medical MJ this year and just now we're getting an MJ guy? Way to stay ahead of the curve.

I wonder if you could address Henry's assertion, during the CC, that of course tobacco companies have a Plan B, with the implication being that it involves XXII. I'm trying to understand the basis for that statement, whether it's an "educated" guess or if there's been some actual progress towards a deal. What do you hear?

It's likely that BT has agents who can run circles around Henry without breaking a sweat - why would they be honest with him about their intentions, it's the same industry that hired MD's to swear that smoking causes no harm.

It's hard to understand why BT hasn't used some pocket change to buy out XXII. Maybe Henry wants too much or maybe BT is trying to deny the very concept of VLN and is confident they can keep it off the market and hold off the FDA. We'll see how it plays out.

Somewhat interesting fact: when Oxycontin was introduced, the FDA accepted as a final result the testing that was done by the manufacturer alone. They were then allowed to market it as being non-addictive (!), so it's hard to understand all the hoops that little VLN has been having to jump through.
