Lots of M&A and financing deals get done in the next three weeks. Bankers love to get deals done before bonuses are decided. Moreover, Anshu will probably want to have his "dominoes" fall before filing the 10-K.
I'd also keep in mind that he announced the $78mm beef deal in December 2016...so he has a precedent for significant announcements in the last month of the year.
