NRZ is MOSTLY an mREIT (a MORTGAGE REIT) although it's something of a black box hybrid. Mortgage REITs are basically leveraged mortgage bond funds which usually don't own RE equity. Regular REITs usually just own real estate equity. Huge Difference.

mREITs can be very complicated... the sort of inscrutable gimmick investments brokers love to dump on doctors. You haven't discussed how NRZ is leveraged and how it's hedged against risks. On the surface mREITs can display extremely high yields. But they can be loaded with dangers that may not show up for years.
