The company said they didn't start drilling until the 18th, so it makes sense that the first drilling pictures were of the beginning of the first hole on the 18th, DD-H-01-18 (not a date, BTW).
What they did for the previous 18 days, I have no idea. It does not take long to level a pad for a core rig.
The only possible thing I can come up with is if they had to build a road to the first pad. But if you look on Google Earth, or the photos the company has provided, you can see that the terrain is relatively flat and wouldn't take much of a road building effort.
If they had to blast an access road into the side of a mountain, that's a whole nuther story.....
