I live in upstate NY and we have an NBC affiliate that does local news and local ads. Construction companies, local resturants etc. all advertise on it and it is very cheap and effective.
buzzy should do the same in the communities where distributors are selling Roadkill. Get people familiar with the name and when they see it, they will try it.
