Gain is the name of the game. How it is done is mute. To each their own. The right way is personal, not universal. Many different approaches can make you money - it is all a matter of timing...and being (owning shares) in the right place at the right time and then selling appropriately (all paper wins unless you sell).
Playing at the same 'winning' slot machine probably will take it all back in the end. If we only could locate those 'hot' slots as we trade which seat to sit in, we all would be millionaires. Isn't happening.
Also, it is not always the fools that lose. But losing is necessary if some are to win.
The real technique necessary to win is to learn from your mistakes and how well you do in not making the same ones over again.
The idea is not how much you want to win, it is that you do win. No set rules to learn or approach to take. You win? Keep doing what you are doing.
