Yes and no....

They seem to think the seeds were planted in Reno about 2 months ago. So first crop mostly gets thrown out then they start growing their selected plants after that?? Did I hear that right?

Facility commenced per social media June 1st+/- (seeds sprouting).

If starting from seed, you get a wider variation/different individuals (plants), with various characteristics, so your first run is to "pick the best" according to whatever/whoever sets the selection criteria.

Simpler explanation:
If you grow out 20 plants, you may have 3 that are favorites. 1 might be highest labs, the next highest yield, and a 3rd a combination of both. All others are most likely utilized for extraction (not throw out per se, but "discontinued" as the 3 are your "keepers"/"mothers" moving forward. From seed, (even if stable stock (seed), there will still be some variation and one can pick and choose according to their selection preferences.

Multiply x however many strains were run. Mother plants then grown out, cuttings taken, and then the uniform crop begun (add another 90 days, etc)....which can be on ongoing process as well depending on the specifics. (in house breeding, additional strains added, and so on.....)

Not as complicated as may sound. Grow out 20 (or more) of 20 different things, select your keepers, extract the rest, and veg them out to then get large enough to take cuttings needed per room/space.

They're on about month 5 give or take, which is suitable to perform all of the above and have whole rooms in production.

Lot of ways to approach it....

Wait, you guys were to be taken literally by the "seeds in the ground in NV" stuff that's been mentioned??? You have to be kidding me.

No commercial grow, ever, would be dedicated to finding a suitable mother from a seed line, at least not in todays economy. If so (to sort of answer you question Dj), it would take about 4 months from planting experimental seeds to evaluating female plants with promise and then making mother plant selection(s). After determining which mother plants Blum would go with, then more mothers would need to be made from the original mother. After that, production quantities of cuttings would be available from the block of mothers initially produced and grown out. Realistically this whole process would take about 6 months to plant the first commercial crop of clones.

I'm actually doubtful anything is growing in NV that Blum owns at this point - can someone point me in the direction of any PR from TRTC that indicates what they are doing cultivation wise in NV?
