Not a PR (Press Release), but it is a SHAREHOLDER ALERT.

Or what I call a gift.

chowderhead...I have to agree with you...and I ALSO wonder why people respond in the fashion that makes it look like they are being threatened.

This board is a discussion board...nothing else.

If folks are trying to use it to manipulate the stock by hyping and freaking out trying to intimidate legitimate discussion....that is THEIR problem.

I imagine they wonder why I am not backing down....with the lack of "group hugs"...but as a shareholder, it seems to me we should be questioning this 'mystery" stuff..and why it is served up. The "next to HP trailer" at that music scene was pathetic...particularly if one went and saw our booth.

This is a sad little group.

Everyone would like to know that, but I understand why they don't talk about it now. Price competition is a powerful sales tool.

No doubt a legitimate question, but when we see it in the context of expressions suggesting or implying that it will not amount to anything, it becomes offensive. I can say the same about all the posts suggesting that we have found the way to paradise. Just one person's opinion, as are most of the posts on this board. It's when the statement start to sound like 'fact' that we run into trouble.

Well, as a simpleton, if we revealed how much revenue we would receive from this asian oem some rocket scientist might really be able to quite easily ascertain how many units were being produced and just how aggressively this oem were going after the hdd mp3 player market now wouldn't they. Now since we don't record revenue until product is shipped, it seems to me that any projections made now would be subject to change and to the endless criticism observed on this board about any projections that do not come to pass exactly as the company forecasted. I'm long on this stock. I can wait for the revenues to be recorded...it sure seems like a positive development to me.

I have trouble understanding what the real purpose of this "shareholder alert" other than to stimulate some shareholder buying based on speculation of what might be meant.

After all, what was really said? Some un-named OEM is going to put out an unknown quantity of its version of the Odyssey 1000 (which, BTW was jointly developed with Digitalway) sometime later this year and pay some sort of unquantified licensing fees to e.Digital.

Shareholders will have no idea of the financial significance of this for many months until the 10Q for QE 12/31/03 is released in mid February.

This reminds me of the PR about Musical supposedly putting MOS in the Classic CHD player. Shareholders went out and snatched them up in late 2001, certain that e.Digital was going to get substantial revenue from Musical. It turned out that the agreement did not provide for any royalties to be paid on the sales prior to April 1, 2003 and total revenue to e.Digital was just a few thousand dollars.

This deal could be just as pathetic. If it were really significant, it would have mentioned expected revenue and put out as a PR to attract new investors.

IMO, this was just more of the same embellished fluff e.Digital's been putting out lately and probably why it wasn't released on the wires as a PR.
