Legal Matters Update

Nio-Star has retained the Toronto based law firm of Crawley MacKewn Brush LLP, a firm which specializes in securities litigation. To date, a defense has been filed on behalf of the Nio-Star subsidiary against lawsuits filed by former management, members of their families and related companies. In addition, Nio-Star has initiated a court action with claims against former management and associated parties, including Andrew Drew Currah, Lucas Currah, Penny Currah, Benedetto Fuschino, Larry Salo, Scott Keevil and Sabine Frisch, as well as companies related to the above individuals including Northern Rock Works LTD., Chapleau Birch Holdings LTD., 1777370 Ontario Inc., 2254022 Ontario LTD., Midnight Capital Corp., Fire Lake Resources Inc. For further details of these lawsuits please click here. Additionally, the Company has retained the US law firm Faegre Baker Daniels LLP to investigate additional US based claims against the above-mentioned parties for additional damages on behalf of Sarissa and its shareholders. The Company is confident that it will prevail on both the defense and counter claims and the additional forthcoming actions.

The Company also plans to provide evidence to various government agencies in both Canada and the United States in regards to details relating to these suits.

By letter dated February 8, 2018, Staff of the OSC also advised that Ben Ward is the subject of an investigation into his activities while he was CEO of Canadian Cannabis Corp., a company wholly unrelated to the Company. Prior to this, the Company was unaware of the matter. The Company is unaware of any facts that could reasonably lead it to conclude that this investigation has had, or will have, any impact on the ability of Mr. Ward to properly and effectively carry out his duties as CEO or director of the Company. Staff of the OSC have advised the Company that they are unable to provide it with any further information at this time. Mr. Ward has advised the Company that he is subject to the same restrictions under applicable securities law. The Company is advised by Mr. Ward that he is fully cooperating with the investigation and that he believes that he has acted at all times in a manner that is compliant with applicable securities law.


I hope the OSC investigation will finally come to an end and starts acting on the various scams.
btw. Sabine Frisch is now "working" as assistant for Ben Ward at Maricann. Her name is a good indicator that something is up if her name appears somewhere in a filling of a stock. She is now married with Scott Keevil and appeared somehow in all of the gangs scams (Joshua Gold, Canadian Cannabis, Sarissa Resources, Maricann) to name the latest
