The buy sell could very well be cross trading. there have been a few old, real old convertible notes being converted and some it may be attributed to the fill orders associated with those conversions.
As for 500 million shares on the ask. When the news hits, as it has in the past, those of us who have been here know that about 30-40% of that will move off the ask, the rest will be chewed up in about 30 minutes.
