You can do those if you are a member of Stockcharts, but you won't have the degree of control that I have with my own Rel-Perf chart.
I am not a member of Stockcharts so I made my own Rel-Perf chart, therefore I have a great deal of control over it. The Stockcharts version doesn't have the degree of control that it needs in order to make quick decisions, so it's normally quite sluggish and virtually worthless for a trader.
There are two symbols on the chart; AMD, and INO for comparison. The upper-right quadrant is the best place to be (making money going long and no sharp changes in direction); and the lower-left quadrant is the worst place to be.
How a trace gets from one quadrant to the next is a very big deal. AMD made a very sharp reversal in the green quadrant two days ago after passing near the origin then sped past the origin again yesterday and there was little doubt where it was headed. That was very quick and large negative momentum and I don't want to play that game.
So I'll watch and see when and how AMD enters the Improving zone, and decide then if it's time to get back in.
