It MIGHT be a stock, instead of a cash, dividend? In other words, maybe shareholders as of a certain date, are granted .2 shares for every share they own. Or maybe they are granted .5 shares for every share they own, in which case, if you owned 2 million shares, after the granting of the dividend you would own 3 million shares.
A RS, were it to take place, is a separate matter and not really related other than, as we know, an RS hammers share value 95% of the time and so, a share dividend could conceivably make up for the injury to shareholder value, of a RS, maybe supersede it. Maybe they don't do an RS.
I don't know.
I have no idea what management intends to do and when -- if ever -- a change in share structure, OR the 'big' news long suffering retail shareholders have waited for, might conceivably drop.
