#827 RE: seek the light #826

From what I understood about the Saudi Aramco - Micromem-MAST arrangement of several years ago, there were 14 laboratory based units delivered to SA as part of their contract. These units were satisfactory for their analysis and reporting capabilities, but Saudi Aramco wanted some of their own vendors to be involved with production fabrication of similar units.

As for the units that were to be directly attached to the individual oil producing wells, Saudi Aramco supposedly dragged their feet in moving forward with that technology. Chevron stepped up to the plate and Micromem-MAST responded with several development contracts as the "AROMA" technology evolved into the ATRA-171 device.

Another person that follows both the private forum and this message board wrote to me to explain the situation between Canada and Saudi Arabia: "The Canada/Saudia Arabia dispute was started by a tweet criticizing their human rights issues. It quickly became a major issue but no news for the past while on what’s happening behind the scenes."

This being the case, I suspect that if Micromem-MAST has the better mousetrap -- i.e. something that Saudi Aramco would need -- then they will figure out a way to get the deal done. The New York office was set up for US defense contract requirements, so it is likely that it could be used to circumvent such issues as above.
