It did solidify the customer base, as the article mentioned:

"He said the campaign increased core customers' loyalty to Nike. It also raised awareness for the brand."

... but sales are already back down, and Nike has alienated a significant percentage of the population.

Possibly a short term positive, and a longer term negative?

... we will see in the next six months or so.

I just wouldnt want Colin or Serena representing my company.
