Not sure where you read that I actually gave him credit for anything other than the appearance of potentially being legit in the beginning. I know very well how many shares he and Goode put out, I used to document them for the board...
Don't forget though, that he learned about this method from NIR who somehow put him in control through the lawyer Loren. He just did a crappier job than Ribotsky and got away with way less.
