BCEI, et al. -- fwiw, both the Democrat and Republican gubernatorial candidates are on record as being against the Initiative 97, as is the Democrat House Rep. for the area.

From what i've read, the schools will take a MASSIVE HIT if the measure were to be enacted legislatively banning all new drilling in the areas specified by the ballot-measure. Colorado schools got $160 million in just the past two years from the oil/gas industry's contributions to the budget.

Good find on BCEI. That could be the main reason the stock is trading at such an incredibly cheap valuation. Prop 97 seems to have a very low chance of passing, as it would severely hurt the economy, jobs & schools. But who knows. If it doesn't pass, BCEI should rocket higher. That and a stellar Q3 comp in November should make for a powerful 1-2 punch. I still like this one a lot below $30.

Kik BCEI, I agree with you that BCEI is being pressured by PROP 97, and thats the reason for the move lower.
