Newswatch TV is basically a pay-for-play service. There are a number of these companies out there. You pay a fee for them to produce a segment about your company that is included in their show. You are basically paying to be part of an infomercial that looks like a news show. Shows like this tend to air on networks when they have dead air. It’s not uncommon for them to be on a major network, but at an undesirable time, like 4:00am. Often the show is sandwiched between other infomercials. Some times the content can be searched for and found in the TV listing, while other times it shows up as some sort of “paid placement.” There are print versions of this type of pay-for-play offering as well. No legitimate editorial outlet (print or broadcast) will charge to you to be covered. Most major brands don’t bother with this sort of stuff because they can generate coverage without having to pay for it. Smaller brands might enjoy having friendly “coverage” they can market to potential customers, but it comes at a cost - often $10K+
