Perhaps you haven't read about the theft of intellectual property by the Chinese. Or the Chinese sending their own laborers into countries instead of using local labor. Or the Chinese asking for things in return for their money. Does anyone really believe these practices will change? Does anyone really believe the Chinese care the least about any of these countries or their people? Does anyone really think that seismic data isn't high on their list for hacking?
As far as I know neither the Chinese nor Total have acquired a single block in the EEZ despite all these blocks being available for a decade and despite all the claims otherwise. Has either signed on the dotted line?
What I see is that the actual interest in the EEZ is far overstated just as the amout of oil that the EEZ may contain is way overstated. Some things never change as they relate to ERHC. Over promise and underdeliver.
Never forget the JDZ and what happened when the Chinese took control there. I haven't forgotten. Five wells, 5 dry holes.
